"Just use a filter"
Not everyone has the knowledge on how to make one, and not every Fedi software implements it in the same way. Using and making a filter implies that the person knows what the filter will be about, what keywords everyone *will* use, and that it will not generate false positives.
It is also a subtle way of pushing the responsibility back to the people asking, which is to disregard their request to CW the stuff.
You will not post about a topic with the same words. Heck, you will sometimes use too little words for a filter to trigger. You say to make a filter, but how do you expect it to work when you're going to reference things that, without context, would appear to not be part of a topic that everyone CWs, but with topic, it is?
This is a group effort. And Fedi is not Twitter.
@ShadowJonathan I can't even use filters, but I don't think those people care if the solution works as long as it isn't their problem
