@ielenia@ck.catwithaclari.net wait, i don't remember how i did that. but i think that was from inside windows. you actually have to do a lot of work, disabling stuff like swap files, for windows to acknowledge that the partition is shrinkable

i don't want "fedi" to grow

"fedi" as a community doesn't exist. it is many communities, some with overlap, some fully orphaned.

when people talk about wanting "fedi" to grow, to see widespread adoption, even with good intent, they are asking for folks on fedi who have carved out a niche, who have spent blood and tears and countless labor hours making a place folks like them can safely express themselves make room for those who routinely oppress them

I am threatened by the pursuit of growth, by "normalizing" fedi. because a lot of us are marginalized and *have nowhere else to go*. i get wanting your friends here. invite them. show them the ropes.

but what we need to focus on is combatting racism on fedi. queerphobia. ableism. classism. the instances that chase growth are the worst perpetrators of these issues.

so yeah, i'm hostile to those who talk more about metrics than people, talk more about fedi than communities, and who focus on making fedi more tolerable for those who are not already dispossessed

feel like making an #introduction since i got here and i don't think i made an intro on my previous instace, so here we go:

hi , am aei/aria/mym/ whatever you feel like calling me. boy thing probably i dont know never read the manual. i dont know what i am besides [boy? i guess?] but i know i'm like schrödinger's cat but with less poison and you'll either find a :neofox: or a :neobot: inside the box.

i uh make website[s], well just one (my personal) for now, but will do more eventually :neofox_laptop:

linux-using cs student™, GNOME user cause i like it :neobot_happy: want to make desktop apps eventually :neobot_flop: (i have no experience)

speak too many languages for my own good (english, german, arabic, some japanese), on rare occasions translates open-source software (EN <-> AR).
