I just learned that there is an app to simulate train inverter sounds and it's very sophisticated

I love it omg

play.google.com/store/apps/det

Screenshot of the app OTOTETSU showing a speed dial and a list of steps the inverter takes depending on speed
Train Configuration, showing some general train parameters like wheel diameter or acceleration
Inverter COnfiguration, showing a lot of parameters that can influence the way the inverter controls the motor, like modulation type and frequencies

@psyolus @cato indeed, YT had dumped a video about VFDs in trains in my startpage, that fits right in there xD

@cato Does it have a accelerating Taurus?

deneb

@cato oh my god and it has some basic track noises too this is amazing

@cato I love this, thank you!

(My dog doesn't love it :c)

Outfrost

does anyone know how to make it emulate a pulse-dropping GTO drive like on BR class 323?

@outfrost you can add multiple entries below for different speed ranged and set their pulse count differently :3

@cato this started me on a strange journey, and now I'm watching Bill Bailey's long lost brother explain VVVFs...

@cato the community around vvvf train inverter sounds is huge for some reason. like this youtube benchtop simulation with 1M views youtu.be/b4AMDiYV4PU?si=slp1RE

@cato omg I love it too. I don't quite understand how they simulate the noise but I'm already in love with it
