i don't know why people get confused about [confusing topic] so often. it's literally just [straightfoward rule], unless [extremely common condition], in which case you just [counterintuitive transformation] or [inexplicably different pattern] depending on [obscure property]. it's like [overused analogy] except [exception that makes the analogy useless].
i don't know why people get confused about pronouns so often. it's literally just whatever someone says they are, unless you don’t know, in which case you just ask them or read their bio text or pronouns badge, depending on what the context is. it's like someone’s name or nickname except you’re super transphobic if you get it wrong on purpose.
@lynnesbian I literally thought this was about a post a couple of days ago saying how easy Mastodon was to use, and how anyone saying otherwise was excessively negative. It fits multiple contexts.
new messaging service idea: when you sign up, you provide your "skills" like in an RPG: intelligence, charisma, etc. then whenever you send a message, an LLM (i know i know) checks if your skills are high enough to say that, and if you fail the check, it rewords your message into the "failed" version.
for example:
- you sign up and say your cooking skill level is 2/10
- you send "how do you sous vide a crême brulée?"
- LLM determines that your message would require cooking 6 or higher
- your message is sent as "does anyone know how to deep fry whipped cream?"

This is why people hate college math
