More on my recent fuss with #pixelfed: After being blocked by their official Mastodon account yesterday, I just a few moments ago left a post there stating this fact and explaining that I won't keep using or recommending pixelfed anymore until this is somehow settled, we're here now:

My pixelfed.social account is either blocked or gone. I can't log in anymore, and my crawler script that used the (public) view of pixelfed to even download my pictures from there is running in errors.

Like I stated there: I'm not angry. Just disappointed beyond belief. I've been on pixelfed ever since 2018, communicated a lot of more or less pressing issues in their (often, then and now) broken federation with other systems, their still utterly broken handling of comments, ... . I think I've always remained constructive andd mannered in my wording but maybe I'm wrong here, communication usually is what is being received not what is being sent. Still, this kind of behaviour is new to me on the Fediverse. It is an odd example of how things should probably not be, and it just emphasizes what I recommended "over there": Stay away from pixelfed for now. At the very least, stay away from pixelfed.social. And I hate to say that but here we are.😔
