We are literally served more 'news' on celebrity events than an active war on our continent, that threatens the safety of all of us. Unfortunately, this ambivalence isn't new, it's what made the fascists and dictators of the past so successful. @iamada also I noticed that a lot of the news (celebrity or not) have emotionally-charged and/or out-of-context headlines too. Like I worked in a shop for 7 months and jesus headlines are awful. "X is disgusting!" as a headline or "X will happen!" with it actually being a quote in super small text in the body. Absurd i am clinically insane (i write js for work and now i'm writing js for a hobby (it's okay i'm using the good libraries and they use the bad >:3)) Slow day today and we have to warmup before we can get back into doing anything real :neofox_melt: https://www.congress.gov/bill/119th-congress/house-bill/1161 the onion isn’t even necessary anymore "This year, nearly 90,000 developers participated in the 2023 Stack Overflow Developer Survey" uhuh sure, it is 2023 guys!!!!!!! people who use caps lock instead of shift (as in pressing caps lock, e, caps lock in order to type E) actually scare me
unless its because they have difficulty pressing multiple keys at once in which case thats fair enough
