"subs outnumber doms on the internet" is actually a statistical error, the fediverse, a network that contains thousands of subs, is an outlier and should not be counted

(post tax per month, so it's easier to compare)

hi! i have a fun issue right now and that is:

I can't listen to music on my laptop in decent ways anymore! :floofExplode:ā€‹

VLC works just fine, same with MilkyTracker, Firefox and Feishin. - but mpv, xmp, Lollypop and Strawberry refuse to play any music while pretending to play music basically (for some reason??).

the setup is the following:
laptop runs Arch, kernel 6.13.2-zen, newest-available ffmpeg and mpv packages, and the audio is going to Bluetooth headphones. restarting BlueZ (via systemctl restart bluetooth) did not work, and neither did restarting PipeWire (via systemctl restart pipewire --user) and restarting the whole system.

@awoo@gts.apicrim.es are you using pulseaudio or pipewire? does switching to different speakers solve the problem? can mpv play videos with sound?

Jessie Nabein :neofox_peek_owo:

@awoo have ya got the pulseaudio-pipewire package installed too?
I can check on my laptop what I have for audio, I hate installing unnecessary things but i've always had working audio.
