OH MY GOD
so
ÖBB disabled easy name changes via their settings UI
*but*
i was like "eh, i wonder if i can just... un-disable the input field via devtools"
so i did
and it worked
ÖBB didnt validate the random name change in their backend

anyway, PSA for austrian trans people who didn't change their name in ÖBBs system i guess:
ÖBB doesn't allow you to change your name easily
you can do that anyway if you open devtools, find the input element for the first name, and just remove "disabled="""
you can just click save and... it saves correctly.

@schrottkatze lol. lmao even.

"einmal mit Profis" hat also manchmal tatsächlich sogar praktische Folgen :awesome:

i know my account here is basically dead but it has more reach: so basically i found an archive i made a really long time ago. its encrypted and i forgot the password. luckily, i stored the password in a separate file, that is also encrypted and i forgot the password to. but luckily i kind of remember the structure of the password, like what it started like and some phrases inside of it and stuff. it is an encrypted libreoffice document. is there any way to try to bruteforce a bunch of combinations of words to hopefully crack it? this is really important to me

please boost this!

i remember seeing a post to this effect but i don't remember where or who from so im just gonna say it again because i agree

i don't get the core point of the osa. like its whole deal is "stop anyone under the age of 18 finding anything sexual online at all ever" which i just Don't see the problem there like. if someone doesn't want to see porn that came up by accident they can close the tab regardless of age. if parents are shitting themselves about their kids seeing porn they can do something by themselves. if the concern is about pedos and groomers well this law isn't gonna do jack shit to stop that happening anyway is it. it really just comes off as conservative/christian anti sex rhetoric imo. also supposing it does work, i would be horrified to see what Average Teenage Boy would be like having not been exposed to any sexual material until turning 18 especially given the general state of sex ed 😐

Citigroup is spending £1bn to attract staff back to its Canary Wharf tower, including remodelling floors, changing natural lighting patterns, and more.

Maybe it'd be easier to renovate these offices to provide accommodation instead. If we consider that workers prefer WFH due to the lower commute costs and so on, then it makes sense to actually alter these offices as a place to live instead. Offices are located in prime areas with public transport access, great local amenities, etc, which makes them ideal to house your workforce too. Instead of bringing the office to the home, you can bring the home to the office.

Let's not have people sleeping under their desks, but sleeping in an employer-provided flat in the same building. It just makes sense.
